Future Competences for the project business in an era of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly gaining importance in the business world, including the project business. AI is increasingly substituting conventional project management tasks, augmenting or replacing human activity. As a result, people are taking on different tasks in the project business and need new competences to do so. These changes are unfolding rapidly and require both project management professionals and organizations to take action.

In this study in Germany, we aim to gain an in-depth understanding of evolving trends, analyze changing competence requirements in the project business, assess the pace of these changes together with the impact on people and organizations, and explore potential ways to respond to this disruption.

The study was initiated by the MPM Industry Exchange Forum of the GPM Deutsche Gesellschaft für Projektmanagement and will be conducted by a research team of the European University Alma Mater Europaea under the leadership of A./Prof. Dr. Reinhard Wagner.

All information provided in the questionnaire will be kept confidential and used only for the purposes of this study. While a summary of the overall findings may be published, individual responses will remain confidential and will not be identifiable.

The survey includes 27 questions and takes about 15 minutes to complete.
